Visit Margarita's "Green Desert"

Start your rustication and get in touch with life in Macanao. Next stop? Punta Arenas, the westernmost tip of the island. Enjoy a refreshing swim or a game of volleyball. Wind in your hair and happy faces...this is the formula for the Jeep Safari when we visit Margarita's "green desert": the Macanao Peninsula, a great adventure in 4x4 jeeps with experienced drivers!

The 4x4 Jeep adventure begins in the city of La Asunción, capital of Nueva Esparta State, then continues to "El Valle del Espíritu Santo" (The Valley of the Holy Spirit) to visit the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Valley, patron saint of the island of eastern Venezuela, where you can see handicrafts related to her.

To refresh yourself, you will have lunch and an "Open Bar" for drinks throughout the excursion.

The tour continues to "La Laguna de La Restinga" for a boat ride through the mangroves and to appreciate the diverse bird species present in the area. Lunch will include options such as: fish fillet of the day, chicken breast, breaded calamari, fish fingers, or chicken nuggets with three sides: striped salad, rice, and fried plantain. Tropical fruit dessert.

Route

Departure from the hotel at 9:00 am.
La Asunción, Copey National Hill, or La Sierra. Visit to Sabores de Altura (High Altitude Flavors). Guided agrotourism tour and tasting of the different fruits grown in the area, such as mamey, papaya, pomalaca, cacao, sugarcane, among others. (The fruit to be tasted depends on the season).
The Espiritu Santo Valley.
Juan B. Arismendi Highway toward the Macanao Peninsula.
La Restinga Lagoon. Boat ride (30 min).
Tasting of Margarita empanada and papelón juice.
Off-Road Boca Chica. Visit to the salt flats and cliffs.
Off-Road to La Carmela pristine beach. Time to walk, swim, and enjoy a pristine beach.
La Pared Beach: Lunch and beach time with all services.
La Acequia Lagoon. Birdwatching.
Strategic stop: La Restinga Pump for restroom use and refreshments.
Return to the hotel at approximately 6:00 pm.
