Datos de interés

  • Unique Phenomenon & Guinness World Record: Catatumbo holds the Guinness World Record thanks to an average of 250 lightning flashes per square kilometer per year, particularly during peak activity nights (April–November).
  • The Historic "Lighthouse of Maracaibo": This phenomenon has served as a natural lighthouse for navigation since colonial times. Its light is so intense that it can be spotted from over 400 kilometers (250 miles) away.
  • Cradle of "Water Villages" and Palafitte Culture: The trip doesn't take place on dry land, but over the water. The epicenter consists of fishing communities like Ologá and Congo Mirador, settlements made up of colorful palafitos (houses built on wooden stilts over the lake). Here, visitors immerse themselves in a unique Venezuelan lifestyle where transport is exclusively by boat and technological disconnection is total.
