Mochima National Park is located between the states of Anzoátegui and Sucre, in eastern Venezuela. It was declared a National Park in 1973 with the aim of protecting the diversity of flora and fauna present in this area.

🌴The word Mochima comes from the indigenous language of the area and means “land of many waters.” Its landscapes include bays, white sand beaches, cliffs, gulfs, deep-water coasts, coral reefs, islets, and coves, as well as mountainous areas with lush vegetation.
🌴A group of islands are located in the geographical area of this park, the most notable being the Caracas Islands in the state of Sucre and the Picudas Islands in the state of Anzoátegui.
🌴 Tourists can access the park by land from the cities of Barcelona and Cumaná. Mochima National Park has a variety of beaches in the coastal area that can be reached by car, and the beaches on the islands can be reached by sea from various ports of embarkation:

🌴 The climate is warm and semi-arid, with a dry season from January to May and a rainy season from June to December.
🌴 The most visited beaches are Playa Arapito and Playa Colorada, as well as beaches on the islands such as Playa las Maritas, Playa Blanca (one of the favorites), and Playa Cautaro, which can be reached from different piers in the area, including the one in the town of Mochima. Thanks to their location in the warm waters of the Caribbean, the beaches of the coastal area and the islands of this park are ideal for water activities such as scuba diving and sailing.
