• Its historic downtown preserves beautiful colonial architecture, housing the headquarters of emblematic institutions such as the University of Los Andes (ULA), the Cathedral, the Archbishop's Palace, and the Government Palace.
• Situated at 1,820 meters above sea level, its territory features the five highest peaks in Venezuela, including the imposing Bolivar Peak with its crown of perpetual snows.
